Neither an ‘identikit’ resort nor a picture-postcard village Saint Martin has remained true to its roots. It is a realistic Savoyard village with narrow streets, a clock tower and stone plus wood-clad farmsteads behind the doors of which you shall discover barns with domed ceilings. The settlement has advanced over the years to be competent to welcome visitors devoid of losing its modest touch. Doorway to the marvelous Les 3 Vallées ski expanse, the hamlet is acknowledged for its superior chalet accommodation, its gourmet cuisine, its friendly atmosphere and predominantly La Bouitte, the initial Savoyard eating place to have attained 3 Michelin stars plus the “fleuron” certification.  St Martin is an enjoyable old township, situated on a steep slope, with its wide-ranging modern advances at the bottom of the slopes all in an old-fashioned style. The central feature remains the beautiful 16th-century church – charmingly floodlit during the night. chalet st martin de belleville
